The Sea Between Us available online starting October 2

Montreal, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 – Due to the temporary closure of cinemas in Montreal and Quebec City, Marlene Edoyan’s new documentary will be released online starting October 2. The Sea Between Us will be available on video on demand, via the Cinéma du Parc and the Cinéma Le Clap.

The film was featured in several festivals including the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) and the Amsterdam International Documentary Festival (IDFA). The story takes us to Beirut 25 years after the bloody civil war. Two women allow us into their lives to learn whether forgiveness and reconciliation are possible in a country still torn by sectarian strife.

Filmmaker Marlene Edoyan will meet viewers for a live discussion on Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m. on the film’s Facebook page. Nadine Gomez will host the discussion.

Theatrical screenings outside of Montreal and Quebec City will take place as planned. On Sunday, October 4 The Sea Between Us is part of a special program on Lebanon organized by the Festival Cinéma du Monde de Sherbrooke at Théâtre Centennial. There will be a virtual discussion with the filmmaker. The screening at Cinéma Paraloeil in Rimouski will also take place as scheduled on Thursday, October 15.
